I was leaving the Radisson Hotel in Letterkenny a few days ago when a baby, two toddlers and a gorgeous, super cool American “mom” and “Dad” caught my eye. Why? They were all wearing Carhartt headgear. Yes, I mean ALL! Even the baby. I held the door open for them, they had their hands full and I couldn’t help but admire their effortlessly cool vibe.

The SourcedBySab Fam knows that Carhartt is a SourcedBySab staple and we get mega demand for the brand. The jackets, hats, and more recently jeans and workwear trousers are highly sought after. Anyone glued to the Netflix “Yellowstone” series at present can see that Carhartt is the uniform for these rugged cowboys and cowgals in Montana; the brand that’s chosen by the brave, the tough, the passionate, the “ life is for livin’ and lovin’, don’t get in my way” vibe people.  And now we want our toddlers to wear it too!  So here we are in February 2025- a few days away from Valentine’s Day … and this perfect couple and their lovely children all clad in Carhartt made me stop and think about the iconic couples we turn to for street style inspiration.

Those couples that rock streetwear brands and challenge us to not be dull or boring when we step out for a coffee or a matcha! Valentine's Day is the perfect time to celebrate not only love but also shared passions —like streetwear. Across the globe, these couples have effortlessly embraced brands like Adidas, Nike, Carhartt, and Stussy, blending comfort and style. These brands offer endless inspiration for couples who want to keep their fit game strong.

Why do iconic couples so often adopt each other’s style?  A way of saying “I’m yours”…”You’re mine”? … a declaration of love? …A statement of togetherness? … or maybe just an expression of fun! Whatever the answer, increasingly we are expressing our togetherness through what we wear and how we wear it.

Let’s take a look at how iconic couples rock these streetwear brands and how you can channel their energy this Valentine’s Day.

The Beckhams have long been style icons, effortlessly incorporating streetwear brands into their  wardrobes such as iconic Nike air maxes and Adidas beanies. Their Netflix documentary took us behind the scenes into David’s wardrobe- his obsession with how he folds and displays his clothes-how he dresses “matters”; it’s part of who he is.

Across the pond, Hailey and Justin Bieber rock the streetwear look, stepping out in oversized Carhartt jackets, baggy jeans, cool shades and baseball caps. Carhartt WIP (Work In Progress) is a prime example of how workwear has transitioned into the streetwear scene. Originally known for durable workwear, Carhartt’s WIP line has become synonymous with quality, style, and functional fashion. Combining the brand's blue-collar roots with high-end street sensibilities, Carhartt WIP has seamlessly merged utilitarian clothing with modern street style, appealing to both skaters and fashion-forward individuals. The iconic Carhartt WIP jacket, Carhartt jeans and baseball caps have made the brand a staple in streetwear collections.

But streetwear has woven its path into the traditionally “sportswear” zone also. Adidas is now one of the most influential brands in streetwear culture, with its iconic Three Stripes logo and rich history in performance sportswear.. Adidas also continues to make waves with its eco-friendly initiatives and cutting-edge designs that combine performance with street style.  Once again, the Biebers are known for their effortlessly cool streetwear looks, often featuring Adidas tracksuits and sneakers. Hailey loves the oversized look, while Justin keeps it sporty with classic Adidas kicks. Together, they nail the laid-back couple aesthetic.

However, no conversation about streetwear is complete without mentioning Nike. The brand has been a driving force in street culture with their classic Air Force one’s and Air maxes remaining the iconic couples choice throughout the decades.

SourcedBySab is now the largest Irish Stüssy retailer. Stüssy is a brand that needs no introduction in the world of streetwear. Founded in 1980 by Shawn Stüssy, the brand started as a surfwear label but quickly evolved into a cultural touchstone, representing a fusion of surf, skate, and hip-hop culture. Stüssy’s influence on streetwear is immeasurable, laying the groundwork for what we know today as the streetwear industry. From its iconic logo to its collaborations with brands like Nike and The North Face, Stüssy has remained a staple in street fashion, producing some of the most sought-after pieces in the culture. At SourcedBySab, we proudly carry pieces from Stüssy that represent the brand’s legacy and continued innovation. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the scene, Stüssy’s designs always stay relevant.

If anyone knows how to rock Stussy streetwear, it's A$AP Rocky and Rihanna. With their fearless approach to fashion, they combine oversized Stussy hoodies, graphic tees, and vintage-inspired pieces with high-fashion accessories.

Another Streetwear brand in big demand at SourcedBySab is North Face. The beautiful, colourful warm, comforting jackets, hoodies and fleeces are big time favourites.  North Face is another iconic brand that has seamlessly fused outdoor performance wear with streetwear culture. Known for its durable, high-quality outerwear, North Face has long been a favourite for streetwear enthusiasts. The brand’s signature jackets, fleece jackets, and parkas have become as much a statement in the urban environment as they are in the great outdoors.
